pHS-2C Benchtop pH Meter

The pHS-2C is a reliable entry-level benchtop pH meter with LCD display, ±0.01 pH accuracy and 1–3 point auto-calibration. Features manual temperature compensation, exceed-limit alarm and electrode monitoring. A practical, no-frills instrument for routine daily pH and mV measurement in laboratory and educational environments.

Product Description

The pHS-2C benchtop pH meter is a straightforward, durable instrument for everyday pH and electrode potential (mV) measurement. Built around a traditional black LCD display with high-brightness backlight, it provides clear, direct readings without the complexity of touchscreen interfaces or data management systems — making it well suited for routine laboratory use, quality control and teaching environments where simplicity and ease of operation are the priority.

The pHS-2C covers the standard laboratory pH range of 0 to 14.00 pH with ±0.01 pH accuracy, and supports 1 to 3 point calibration with automatic recognition of pH 4.00, 6.86 and 9.18 standard buffer solutions. Manual temperature compensation (0–60°C) allows correction for varying sample temperatures. An exceed-limit alarm notifies the operator when readings fall outside preset acceptable values, and built-in electrode monitoring tracks electrode condition over time.

With no connectivity, data storage or printing functions to configure, the pHS-2C is ready to use with minimal setup — a reliable daily workhorse for laboratories that measure pH frequently and record results manually.

FAQ

What is the difference between pHS-2C and pHS-3C?

The pHS-2C uses a traditional LCD+LED display, measures pH from 0 to 14.00 pH, and has a slightly wider physical footprint (260×210×80 mm). The pHS-3C features a 4.3-inch color TFT touchscreen, a wider measurement range of -2.00 to 20.00 pH and a more compact body (200×130×60 mm). Both models offer ±0.01 pH accuracy and 1–3 point calibration without data storage or connectivity. Choose the pHS-2C for straightforward traditional operation; choose the pHS-3C for a modern touchscreen interface and wider measurement range.

Can the pHS-2C measure ORP (oxidation-reduction potential)?

Yes. In mV mode, the pHS-2C measures electrode potential from -1400 to +1400 mV. Connect a compatible ORP electrode via the BNC input to measure oxidation-reduction potential. This range covers most standard ORP measurement applications in water quality testing and chemical analysis.

Does the pHS-2C support automatic temperature compensation?

No. The pHS-2C uses manual temperature compensation only, with a compensation range of 0–60°C. Before measurement, enter the sample temperature manually to ensure accurate pH readings. For applications where sample temperature varies significantly or where automatic compensation is required, the pHS-3CT — which includes the T-820D temperature probe and ATC from -5.0°C to 110.0°C — is recommended.

What does the exceed-limit alarm function do?

The exceed-limit alarm allows the operator to set an acceptable pH measurement range. When a reading falls outside the defined limits, the instrument sounds an audible alert. This is particularly useful in quality control environments where pH must remain within a specified tolerance, providing immediate notification without the need to monitor the display continuously.

What buffer solutions are supported for calibration?

The pHS-2C automatically recognises three standard buffer values: pH 4.00, 6.86 and 9.18. User-defined buffer values are also supported, allowing calibration with any standard solutions your laboratory uses. For 3-point calibration, use all three standard buffers to maximise accuracy across the full measurement range.

Is the pHS-2C suitable for educational use?

Yes. The traditional LCD display, simple push-button operation and minimal configuration requirements make the pHS-2C well suited to teaching laboratories and student use. There are no data management or connectivity systems to configure, and the self-contained electrode holder means the instrument is ready to use straight out of the box.
