The pHB-4 is a portable pH meter with automatic temperature compensation, ±0.03 pH accuracy and USB Type-C connectivity. Measures pH, mV and temperature (-5.0°C to 110.0°C) via LCD display. Powered by a 4.7V lithium battery with 5W output. Compact at 170×80×30 mm, 0.3 kg — suited for laboratory and field use.
The pHB-4 portable pH meter is a versatile handheld instrument that bridges the gap between compact field testers and feature-rich benchtop models. Measuring pH, mV and temperature in a 170×80×30 mm body weighing just 0.3 kg, it delivers reliable performance across a wide range of laboratory and on-site applications.
Where basic handheld models like the pHB-6 and pHC-2 provide simple pH readings without temperature measurement, the pHB-4 adds integrated temperature sensing and automatic temperature compensation (ATC) across a wide -5.0°C to 110.0°C range — making it suitable for hot process samples, cold environmental monitoring and everything in between. With ±0.03 pH accuracy and 0.01 pH resolution, it provides measurement quality appropriate for routine laboratory and field work alike.
The pHB-4 is powered by a built-in 4.7V lithium battery and connects to a PC via USB Type-C for data transfer and charging. Auto-calibration at 1 to 3 points with automatic recognition of pH 4.00, 6.86 and 9.18 standard buffers keeps setup quick in the field. A T-820D temperature probe is available as an optional accessory.

Both are portable pH meters with temperature measurement and ATC. The pHB-7 is the more advanced model, featuring a 3.5-inch color TFT touchscreen, 1500-point data storage, GLP-compliant printing, three-level user management and 1–5 point calibration. The pHB-4 uses a traditional LCD display, has no data storage or printing, and supports 1–3 point calibration. Choose the pHB-4 for straightforward portable field use; choose the pHB-7 when data traceability, GLP printing and advanced management functions are required.
The pHB-4 measures pH, mV and temperature, supports automatic temperature compensation from -5.0°C to 110.0°C, includes USB Type-C connectivity and is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery. The pHC-2 measures only pH and mV, has no temperature measurement or compensation, uses a disposable DC 3.0V battery and has no connectivity. The pHB-4 is the more capable field instrument; the pHC-2 suits basic lightweight use where simplicity is the priority.
The T-820D temperature probe is an optional accessory for the pHB-4. Without the probe, manual temperature entry is required for temperature compensation. For applications where automatic temperature compensation is important — particularly for samples at elevated or variable temperatures — we recommend ordering the T-820D probe at the same time.
The pHB-4 is powered by a built-in 4.7V rechargeable lithium battery and charges via the USB Type-C port. The same Type-C connection can also be used for data transfer to a PC. No disposable batteries are required, making it more economical and convenient for frequent field use.
Yes. In mV mode, the pHB-4 measures electrode potential from -1800 to +1800 mV. Connect a compatible ORP electrode via the BNC or RCA input to measure oxidation-reduction potential directly.
The pHB-4 automatically recognises pH 4.00, 6.86 and 9.18 standard buffer solutions for 1 to 3 point calibration. User-defined buffer values are also supported for custom protocols. For most field applications, a 2-point calibration using pH 4.00 and 6.86 is sufficient.
