T-820D Temperature Electrodes

The T-820D is a laboratory temperature probe with a 316 stainless steel shaft, measuring 0–100°C. Dimensions Φ4×120mm with Q6 connector. Designed for use with Skill Scientific pH meters and conductivity meters for automatic temperature compensation (ATC).

Product Description

The T-820D temperature probe is the standard temperature sensing accessory for Skill Scientific pH meters and conductivity meters. It measures sample temperature from 0 to 100°C, providing the real-time temperature data required for automatic temperature compensation (ATC) — ensuring accurate pH and conductivity readings across varying sample temperatures.

The probe is constructed with a 316 stainless steel shaft (Φ4×120mm), offering good chemical resistance and durability in typical laboratory aqueous samples. The Q6 connector is compatible with the RCA temperature input socket on all Skill Scientific instruments equipped with ATC functionality, including the pHS-3, pHS-4, pHS-5, pHS-3CT, pHB-7, pHB-4, DDS-421, DDS-411 and DDB-411.

The T-820D is included as standard with pHS-3, pHS-4, pHS-5, pHB-7, DDS-421, DDS-411 and DDB-411 instruments, and is available separately as a replacement or as an optional accessory for instruments where it is not included by default.

FAQ

Which instruments is the T-820D included with as standard?

The T-820D is included as standard with the pHS-3, pHS-4, pHS-5, pHS-3CT, pHB-7, DDS-421, DDS-411 and DDB-411. It is available as an optional accessory for the pHS-3C, pHB-4 and DDS-401. For instruments without a temperature input socket, the T-820D is not compatible.

Why is temperature compensation important for pH and conductivity measurement?

Both pH and conductivity measurements are affected by sample temperature. Without temperature compensation, readings taken at different temperatures will not be directly comparable and may fall outside acceptable accuracy limits. The T-820D continuously monitors sample temperature and transmits this data to the instrument, which automatically applies the appropriate correction — ensuring consistent, accurate results regardless of sample temperature within the 0–100°C range.

How should the T-820D be maintained?

Rinse the probe with distilled water after each use and dry gently with a soft tissue. Avoid mechanical impact or dropping, which can damage the sensor element inside the stainless steel shaft. Store in a clean, dry environment when not in use. If the probe gives inaccurate temperature readings, check the Q6 connector for corrosion or damage and replace if necessary.

Can the T-820D be used in samples outside 0–100°C?

The T-820D is rated for 0–100°C. For pH meters that support temperature compensation beyond this range (such as the pHS-3, pHS-4, pHS-5 and pHB-7, which have ATC to 110°C), the T-820D should only be used within its 0–100°C operating range. For measurement of samples above 100°C, contact us for alternative temperature probe options.
