A simple, reliable instrument for basic field and on-site conductivity measurement.

Product Description

The DDB-11A portable conductivity meter is a compact, straightforward handheld instrument designed for basic conductivity measurement in the field, on production lines and in educational environments. At 180×80×40 mm and 0.3 kg, it is easy to carry to any measurement location and requires no bench or power outlet.

Unlike the DDB-411, which offers a full touchscreen interface, data storage and GLP printing, the DDB-11A focuses on the essentials — a clear LCD display, manual temperature compensation and electrode constant calibration. This makes it practical for applications where a quick, reliable conductivity reading is needed without the overhead of data management systems.

The DDB-11A is unique within the DDB handheld range in offering manual temperature compensation (10–40°C), giving it an advantage over the DDB-1 and DDB-2 for samples measured at varying ambient temperatures. It uses a 3-pin AVC connector with the included DJS-1C (black) electrode, and supports optional electrode swaps for different conductivity ranges.

FAQ

What is the difference between DDB-11A, DDB-1 and DDB-2?

All three are compact handheld conductivity meters with LCD displays and basic operation. The DDB-11A covers the widest range (0.00 μS/cm to 100.0 mS/cm) and is the only model with manual temperature compensation and optional electrode support. The DDB-1 covers 0–10.00 mS/cm and the DDB-2 covers 0.0–199.9 μS/cm — each optimised for a specific narrower range. None of the three have data storage, printing or connectivity. Choose the DDB-11A for general-purpose use across a wider range; choose DDB-1 or DDB-2 when a dedicated single-range instrument is preferred.

What is the difference between DDB-11A and DDB-411?

The DDB-411 is a full-featured portable instrument with a 3.5-inch color TFT touchscreen, 1500-point data storage, GLP printing, three-level user management and USB Type-C connectivity. The DDB-11A is a basic handheld meter with LCD display, no data storage, no printing and simple push-button operation. The DDB-411 suits professional field sampling programmes requiring data traceability; the DDB-11A is ideal for basic on-site checks where simplicity and portability are the priority.

Does the DDB-11A support automatic temperature compensation?

No. The DDB-11A supports manual temperature compensation only, within a range of 10–40°C. Enter the sample temperature manually before measurement to apply compensation. This is sufficient for most ambient-temperature field applications. For wider temperature ranges or automatic compensation, consider the DDB-411.

What connector does the DDB-11A use?

The DDB-11A uses a 3-pin AVC connector, which differs from the BNC/RCA connectors used on the DDS benchtop series and DDB-411. The included DJS-1C (black) electrode is specifically designed for this connector type. Optional electrodes (DJS-0.01, DJS-0.1, DJS-1 bright, DJS-10) are also available in this connector format for different conductivity ranges.

How is the DDB-11A calibrated?

The DDB-11A uses electrode constant calibration. The electrode constant is set according to the specific electrode being used, allowing accurate measurement across different electrode types and cell constants. Unlike the benchtop DDS series, the DDB-11A does not use standard solution-based calibration.

What applications is the DDB-11A suited to?

The DDB-11A is well suited to general field water quality checks, irrigation water monitoring, aquaculture and pond testing, educational demonstrations and basic industrial conductivity screening. Its wide range (0.00 μS/cm to 100.0 mS/cm) and temperature compensation function make it a versatile entry-level portable option for varied on-site applications.
