Skill Scientific manufactures benchtop and portable conductivity meters for water quality monitoring, laboratory analysis and industrial process measurement. All instruments measure conductivity, resistivity, TDS, salinity and temperature in a single unit — covering a range from 0.05 μS/cm for ultrapure water to 500.0 mS/cm for concentrated solutions. Designed and built in Shanghai since 1996.

Benchtop Conductivity Meters

Our DDS Series benchtop conductivity meters are designed for laboratory and quality control environments requiring reliable multiparameter measurement with data management and connectivity. The DDS-421 and DDS-411 feature colour TFT touchscreens, ±0.5% FS accuracy, 1500-point data storage and GLP-compliant printing via USB and RS232. The DDS-401 provides the same five-parameter measurement capability in a traditional LCD format with RS232 output. The DDS-11A is optimised for low-conductivity applications up to 20.0 mS/cm, suited to drinking water, pure water and environmental monitoring.

Portable Conductivity Meters

The DDB-411 is our most capable portable conductivity meter, combining a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 1500-point data storage, GLP printing and USB Type-C connectivity in a 0.3 kg body — suitable for professional field sampling programmes requiring full data traceability. For basic on-site conductivity checks, the DDB-11A covers 0.00 μS/cm to 100.0 mS/cm with manual temperature compensation. The DDB-1 and DDB-2 are compact pocket meters for quick freshwater screening and low-conductivity pure water monitoring respectively.

What Do Conductivity Meters Measure?

A conductivity meter measures the ability of a solution to conduct an electrical current, expressed in μS/cm or mS/cm. Beyond conductivity, Skill Scientific instruments simultaneously measure:

Resistivity — the inverse of conductivity, used in ultrapure water quality control (expressed in MΩ·cm). TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) — the estimated concentration of dissolved substances, calculated from conductivity using a configurable conversion factor (mg/L or g/L). Salinity — the salt content of water (%), relevant for seawater analysis, aquaculture and food processing. Temperature — measured via the included T-820D probe for automatic temperature compensation.

How to Choose a Conductivity Meter

Measurement range — For standard water quality applications (drinking water, wastewater, process water), the DDS-421, DDS-411 or DDS-401 cover 0.05 μS/cm to 200–500 mS/cm. For ultrapure or low-conductivity water only, the DDS-11A (up to 20.0 mS/cm) is the more focused choice.

Laboratory or field use — The DDS series is designed for fixed bench use. For on-site sampling or field surveys, the DDB-411 offers the most complete portable feature set. The DDB-11A, DDB-1 and DDB-2 are suited to basic indicative field readings.

Data and compliance requirements — The DDS-421, DDS-411 and DDB-411 include data storage, GLP printing and USB connectivity for regulated measurement workflows. The DDS-401 supports RS232 printing only. The DDB-11A, DDB-1 and DDB-2 are display-only with no data output.

Electrode selection — The DJS-1N (black, cell constant 1.0) electrode is supplied as standard and covers most applications. For ultrapure water measurement, the optional DJS-0.1 (cell constant 0.1) provides better accuracy at very low conductivity values.
